Truckstop Honeymoon

Music at the festival kicks off on Saturday 7th October at Marden House with the high-energy duo Truckstop Honeymoon! Hollering their hearts out with a five-string banjo, guitar, stand-up bass and a truckful of songs! Their music fuses bluegrass, punk-rock, americana, dance hall jazz and a dose of soul… and tells stories about the strangeness of everyday life… Mike and Katy met in New Orleans and, after a courthouse wedding, hit the road! Together they began a perpetual tour of North America, Europe and Australia. They spent their wedding night in the Tiger Truck Stop, somewhere between Lafayette and the Atchafalya Swamp.

The duo have released a series of CDs (and a full-length documentary film) on Baton Rouge label, Squirrel Records. They perform at International folk festivals, rock clubs, neighborhood bars, house concerts and hay barns from Nebraska to Tasmania.
