Fynamore Primary School
WELCOME TO FYNAMORE SCHOOL
Fynamore opened its doors for the first time in September 2001, taking its name from the oldest known school in Calne, founded in 1557 by Walter Finamore of Whetham. Fynamore is a secure, caring and happy school, providing a warm welcome for children, parents and visitors.
We believe every person matters, and from the beginning we have encouraged a friendly and open partnership between home and school. We aim to work with parents in partnership, to ensure that our broad and balanced curriculum provides each child with a wealth of experiences, together with the understanding and skills needed to achieve their potential.
We pride ourselves on being approachable and ensuring the school is a safe environment where pupils are given clear guidelines on how to behave and are supported or extended to make good progress with their learning. We offer a broad, varied curriculum and a range of interesting activities promoting different learning styles. We try to ensure that we give both pupils and staff the encouragement and opportunities to be the best they can and flourish as individuals!
Our children ‘feel very safe and enjoy coming to school’, OFSTED 2014.
ICT is central to learning in school. All classes have interactive white boards and we also have three banks of laptops and two banks of iPads which are used in the classrooms. The central corridor accommodates the library and kiln, and is used for group work. Our grounds include tarmac play space, playing fields, a quiet zone, called hidden heaven, as well as two gazebos and an adventure playground, which are also used for outdoor learning. Our Early Years classes have their own designated outdoor play area.
If you would like to arrange a more detailed tour of the school, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to meeting you and your family.
